Representatives from Sino-American Silicon Products ( SAS ) and Green Energy Technology

reportedly attended the ceremony held by South Korea-based Nexolon Company to mark its

start of production on September 19. The Taiwan-based solar wafer makers are believed to be

eyeing potential outsourced production orders from Nexolon, according to industry sources in

Taiwan.

However, both SAS and Green Energy declined to comment on the speculation.

Nexolon has close business connections with South Korea-based DC Chemical, a new global

supplier of polycrystalline silicon material, and is likely to seek outsourced production if its initial

production capacity is not enough to meet orders, the sources pointed out. Nexolon has signed supply contracts with two Taiwan based solar cell makers, Gintech Energy and Mosel Vitelic, the

sources indicated.
