Mosel Vitelic has signed yet another contract with Korea-based solar wafer supplier Nexolon worth a total of US$360 million over a seven-year period, according to the Taiwan-based solar cell maker.

Mosel said the supply, which will start in August 2008 and last until December 31, 2014, will be needed to feed its solar cell production.

In February 2008, Mosel signed a five-year supply contract, worth US$290 million, with Nexolon.

Mosel said it started construction of a new solar cell plant in May 2008, and plans to install four production lines with a capacity of 50MWp each. Equipment move-in for two production lines will be complete by the end of the third quarter, and volume production will start in the fourth quarter.

Mosel housed a solar cell capacity of 30MWp at its existing facilities as of the beginning of 2008.
